The informal Gymnich gathering, co-chaired by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, is seen as one of the key events of Poland's presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2025.

Held twice a year by the rotating EU presidency, the Gymnich meeting allows ministers to exchange views on major foreign policy issues in a more relaxed, off-the-record setting.

While no formal decisions are made, the talks often help shape future EU action.

This week’s meeting in the Polish capital is expected to focus on support for Ukraine, EU enlargement and relations with key global powers.
